10代後半からピアノ、ギターのプレイを基本に作曲を重ね、現在までに80曲以上の楽曲を制作。
サウンドはややロック色が強いが、メッセージ性のある歌詞と印象的なメロディは強いオリジナリティを感じさせてくれる。
2009年11月に1st.シングル「I WILL」でメジャーデビューをはたし、Billboard JAPANのHot Top Airplayでは2週連続で5位にランクイン。
2010年1月から「J-MELO」(NHK総合テレビ／日曜24:30～)には、Music Discovererとして準レギュラー出演をしており、

「GOLDEN４EGGS～武川アイ･ Why Ai Tonight」(NACK5･月曜23:00～)も間もなくまる2年、好評ＯＡ中。　
2nd.シングル「遠い道の先で」は「犬夜叉 完結編」のendingテーマとなる。
7月にパリで開催された「JAPAN EXPO2010」のライブステージでは、パワフルなヴォーカルとステージパフォーマンスで1000人超の聴衆を魅了した。
そして待望の1st.ミニアルバム「Dreamer」(avex)がリリースとなり、2011年も全国的なライブ活動（35本）と、創作活動を精力的に続け、

4月から「Together」が「Tokyoマヨカラ」（TV東京）ending テーマとなり、

秋には「あなたの淹れたお茶の薫りがする」を静岡県のお茶のイメージソングとして書き下ろす。

12月と2012年1月のＮＨＫ＜みんなのうた＞では、新曲「よろしく」（作詞作曲唄/武川アイ）がオンエア、

「J-MELO」（NHK）では＜New Band Project＞が着々と進行中で（詳しくは「J-MELO」web siteをご参照下さい）音楽プロデューサーにマーティ・フリードマン氏をむかえ、4月には新曲の発表＆世界デビューの予定。

Until her late teens Ai had been honing her piano & guitar skills before emerging onto songwriting.
Ai has made over 80 original songs until today.
Rock is the base of her sound, onto which layered are the moving lyrics and epical melody that show off Ai’s strong and definite originality.
In November 2009, Ai’s much anticipated debut single “I WILL” was released from avex and the song was ranked No5 for 2 consecutive weeks in Billboard Japan Hot Top Airplay.
Her 2nd single “Tooi Michino Sakide”, which became the Ending Theme of “Inuyasha-Final Episode”, was released on Mar 3, 2010 from avex.
In July 2010, Ai performed on the stage of Japan Expo, which took place in Paris, and she captivated an audience of more than a thousand people with her powerful performance.
In December, Ai’s first mini-album ‘’Dreamer’’ was released from avex.
While her songs frequently appear on different media including TV shows, movie endings, and radio, Ai has been aggressively executing numerous live shows in Tokyo.
In December 2011~Jan 2012, Ai’s ‘’Yoroshiku’’ became the song for ‘’Minna no Uta’’, which is one of the longest-running daily music TV program at the national TV.
Currently, Ai works on a new project on ‘’J-MELO’’ (NHK and NHK World), starting a multi-national band with the viewers of the show around the world.
The band ’’The Rough-T’’ prepares for the world debut coming up this April, with the band producer, Marty Friedman
Ai is making a semi-regular appearance at the national TV show
“J-MELO” (NHK TV/Sun 24:30-) as the role of ‘Music Discoverer.’
